Nippon Electric Works Co., Ltd. (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) issued a wireless monitoring system for photovoltaic power plants on May 27.
The company will combine its own sensor system "Mu sensor" with the long-range wireless LAN system "FalconWAVE" to provide services for small-scale photovoltaic power plants and above-scale photovoltaic power plants.
The Mu sensor system is a 24-hour monitoring system for photovoltaic power generation systems. Sensor terminals equipped with self-supporting power supply are used to send abnormal power generation reduction and abnormal equipment information to the administrator's mobile phone. FalconWAVE is able to pass wireless LAN without communication fees. Lines, which transmit images captured by surveillance cameras at multiple locations, thereby implementing a monitoring system.
In the future, the company will provide systems for small-scale photovoltaic power plants that can utilize portable terminals, monitor power conditioning unit (PCS) contacts, and string voltages connected in series by solar panels. For medium-sized and above photovoltaic power plants, it will also be equipped with an IP camera equipped with wireless communication capabilities to monitor the solar panel system via wireless LAN.
The systems are self-supporting and can be installed separately after the power generation system is built. The price of a self-supporting terminal using a solar panel as a sensor terminal power source starts at 170,000 yen.
